Please check the contents of the packaging, which in addition to the

appliance should contain the following accessories:

• 1 power cable

• 1 stereo RCA cable

A CD player should be more than the sum of the

individual high-quality components. However, the

quality of the individual parts is a precondition for

successful design of the equipment. With a Vincent

CD player the unit’s housing, drive, electronics and

amplifier circuitry must work together perfectly.

Many amplifiers, preamplifiers and main amplifiers

containing transistors are designed with “Class A”

circuitry. In this case a transistor is operated within a

certain range of its characteristic curve in which, alt-

hough the quiescent current and hence the power

consumption are higher than in Class AB operation,

audible non-linear distortion of the output signal is

lower. The sound characteristics of amplifier compo-

nents built in this way have many fans.

There are also amplifier circuits in every audio sour-

ce device and here too, more expenditure on circuit

technology can greatly improve the sound.

Although the CD-S2 is the entry-level model among

Vincent’s CD players, it is still superior to most CD

players in its price band. It has been equipped with

a “Class A” output stage with bipolar and FET tran-

sistors and provides a coaxial digital audio output

and an adjustable headphone output. The appea-

rance of this device matches the other audio compo-

nents from Vincent’s solidLine.

Together with the tuner, the amplifier components of

this design line and Vincent loudspeakers, a harmo-

nious system can be created whose performance

will surprise you.
